Neighborhood Yard Sale this Saturday

Just a quick reminder that our annual yard sale event is planned for this Saturday, August 21st from 8 am to 1 pm. A classified ad will appear in the Pantagraph. This event usually generates a lot of traffic, so here's your chance to part with your valued but neglected possessions. With two open houses scheduled, expect the neighborhood to be hopping!

Weather on Saturday is calling for a high in the upper 80s with a 40% chance of rain through the early afternoon.

Please be aware that the Bloomington liquor commission has voted to allow the Price Rite convenience store to begin selling liquor again. The vote was 2 to 1 with the mayor voting for. As most of you know this location failed to pay the state of Illinois hundreds of thousands of back taxes and thus lost its license. Now the owner has sold the store to his brother and made an arrangement to start paying back taxes to the state which allow them to go for a new license. In addition I think we all are aware of the people that were always in the store and lot (corner of Clinton and Locust) it changed completely and no longer brought in a dangerous clientele . The city council can overturn this recommendation when they meet on Monday, April 14 at. 7pm pm at Kcity hall. I urge you to contact your alderman and try to attend the city council meeting . As your neighborhood real estate broker and a neighbor I know that this is a bad idea. Please pass on this info and feel free to call me. Ann Bailen 275-8181
