Restoration Grants

The Old House Society recently announced its Restoration Grant Program. The program provides old house occupants with assistance and a helping hand in their efforts to repair or restore their old homes. The Restoration Grant Award is $500 ($250 in cash, and $250 in OHS Warehouse salvage merchandise).

Halloween 2011 Tally

Did you run out of candy this year? Here's the 2011 Trick or Treater Tally to help plan for next year. This year we recorded a total of 268 ghosts & ghouls knocking on neighborhood doors. Thanks to Katie L. and John Z. (#21) for preparing the below chart!

Fall Festival


The Fall Festival is this Saturday, October 29 at 5:00 p.m. The annual event is hosted by the Gronemeiers at #22. Please join us for hot dogs, chili, s'mores and more!

Kids are encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costumes. If you dare, the Boyles are hosting a Hauted House at #16.

White Place Historic District

The White Place Historic District is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and encompasses 36.8 acres on White Place, Clinton Boulevard and Fell Avenue between Empire and Emerson Streets.

White Place has 209 contributing and 64 non-contributing buildings (including garages), 1 contributing site and 2 contributing structures (entrance gate and fountain). The majority of contributing buildings were built in the Colonial Revival or Craftsman architectural styles.

Contributing structures were built between 1895 and 1928.

White Place was added to the National Register on 1/12/88.
